Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, FL is seeking a Psychiatric RN (Days, Full Time) to plan and deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process, uphold Magnet standards and patient rights.

The role requires coordinating with a multidisciplinary team, performing head-to-toe and mental health assessments, ensuring safe medication administration, and providing family education in a pediatric psychiatric setting.

Competenze

• RN licensure in Florida or compact license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) current
• PALS within 2 years of hire
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification prior to orientation
• Background check and good moral character

Mansioni

• Plan, implement and document plan of care with multi-disciplinary staff
• Complete admission history and discharge planning
• Obtain parental consent for medications
• Administer medications per policy and six rights
• Monitor IV sites and assess for issues
• Collaborate in daily rounds with emphasis on family-centered care
• Ensure safe analgesics/narcotics administration and reassessment
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments including mental health
• Document accurately in Electronic Health Record within 24 hours
• Educate families about diagnoses and treatment plans
• Maintain CPI and non-violent crisis intervention practices
• Float to other units as needed while maintaining care standards
