Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System seeks an experienced RN to provide specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents. This role uses nursing processes—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—under supervision from the Nursing Manager/Director.

You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver family-centered care, ensure safety, document accurately, obtain consent, and educate families on diagnoses and treatment plans while upholding Magnet standards.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Florida or eNLC and active certification.
• BLS required; PALS within 2 years of hire.
• Competence with EMR systems and patient data entry.
• Experience in pediatric psychiatry preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and document the plan of care with other disciplines.
• Complete admission history and discharge planning per policy.
• Obtain parental consent for medications.
• Follow orders, monitor labs, and administer meds with six rights.
• Collaborate on daily rounds and family-centered care.
• Ensure safe analgesics and monitoring per policy.
• Perform head-to-toe and mental health assessments.
• Document thoroughly in EMR within 24 hours.
• Communicate resources to patients and families.
• Educate families on diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Participate in nursing governance and unit activities.
• Maintain 95% CEI compliance; adhere to regulatory standards.
