Job summary

Patches West Surgery Center in Richmond, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for PreOp/PACU to provide comprehensive perioperative care for pediatric patients in a busy outpatient center.

The role involves preoperative assessment, intraoperative support, and postoperative recovery with emphasis on patient safety and family communication; BLS/ACLS/PALS required, ASC experience preferred, RN license in Texas. Per diem 7–10 hour shifts with potential to move to full-time.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas (required)
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS as per Center requirements
• ASC experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical and mental health before surgery
• Monitor vital signs during recovery from anesthesia
• Prepare and discharge patients with instructions for families
• Administer pain medications and manage pain control
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and communicate with surgical team
• Perform venipuncture and blood draws as needed
• Ensure readiness of supplies and equipment for procedures
