Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a Preop/PACU RN (PRN) to provide compassionate pediatric nursing care in an ambulatory surgical center. You will follow physician orders and center policies to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include admission assessments across preop, OR, and PACU; medication administration and documentation; and collaboration with physicians while maintaining infection control and teaching families as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing with active RN license.
• CPR certification required; PALS required or within 90 days; ACLS may substitute for PALS.
• Minimum 1 year pediatric perioperative care experience.
• Pediatric experience and EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess pediatric patient status on admission to preop, OR, and PACU.
• Use nursing process for assessment, problem identification, and interventions.
• Prepare patients for surgical procedures.
• Physiologically monitor patients during procedures as required.
• Administer and document medications, solutions, and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, or other patient care activities.
• Monitors and controls the environment.
• Provide equipment and supplies in a cost-effective manner based on patient needs.
• Provide timely, accurate, and complete documentation.
• Participate in patient/family teaching based on developmental age.
