Shirley Ryan AbilityLab’s Outpatient Pediatric Center in Chicago, IL seeks a Physical Therapist to help children reach maximum function through home programs and therapeutic interventions. You will evaluate motor and functional status, apply modalities, and tailor plans to each child’s needs.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensed to practice in Illinois.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients and families.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate patient physical and functional status including strength, motor function, reflexes, and activities of daily living.
• Perform evaluation techniques and determine suitability for treatment.
• Apply modalities such as whirlpool, ultrasound, massage, and paraffin.
• Establish therapy goals and a treatment plan with exercise and gait training.
• Discuss goals and treatment with patient and family; instruct home exercise program.
• Participate in discharge planning and home program development when appropriate.
• Document evaluations and progress for physicians and insurers.
• Order devices to assist activity (wheelchairs, canes, crutches, prosthetics).
• Contribute to department education and supervise students; participate in research as needed.
