Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is seeking a Physical Therapist to support adult and pediatric patients at the DayRehab Center in Chicago. You will assess, design, and implement therapy plans to maximize functional independence across ages.

Responsibilities include evaluating motor function, employing modalities, educating patients and families, and contributing to discharge planning and research initiatives. A strong IL license and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and physical therapy treatments and modalities.
• Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Understanding of growth and development of infant, child, adolescent and geriatric patients.
• Ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently.

Responsabilités

• Evaluates patient's physical and functional status including strength, motor functions, reflexes, ambulation and ADLs.
• Conducts exams and determines suitability for treatment using therapy modalities.
• Establishes goals and a treatment plan with exercises and gait training.
• Instructs patients and families on home exercise programs and device use.
• Prepares discharge plans and documents progress for physicians and insurers.
• May supervise students and participate in research projects.
