Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join the Laboratory Support Services team on the Burnet Campus. This full-time role involves phlebotomy, specimen collection, and support of lab operations in a pediatric Medical Center.

You will provide education to patients and families, ensure accurate sample collection, and work with a collaborative team to support high-quality care. This position offers day shifts and competitive starting pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of Phlebotomy or other clinical lab specimen collection experience or completion of a Phlebotomy/Medical Assistant program.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing and processing; educate patients and families about tests and specimen collection.
• Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs; provide information on admissions, discharges, and transfers and offer emotional support.
• Collaborate with team; develop positive working relationships and share knowledge.
• Maintain currency through continuing education and mandatory trainings; apply knowledge to work and professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, regulations, and core standards; maintain a safe and efficient environment.
