Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is seeking a dedicated phlebotomy technician to perform approved specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and related support for patients and families.

The role emphasizes patient advocacy, teamwork, and ongoing professional development within the Laboratory Support Services department. Day shifts with full-time schedule and 40 hours per week are typical.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of Phlebotomy or other Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program.
  • Preferred: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

  • Technical/Phlebotomy - Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing.
  • Customer Service - Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs, provide information to patients about tests and specimens, offer emotional support as needed.
  • Collaboration - Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals and share knowledge with team members.
  • Professional Development - Maintain currency in the field through continuing education and mandatory trainings.
  • Compliance - Understand and comply with policies and regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
