Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician for on-site evening shifts in the Burnet Campus Laboratory Support Services. The role includes specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and patient/family education as part of a collaborative clinical team.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of phlebotomy or related experience, with certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of Phlebotomy or related clinical lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing.
• Provide education/information and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition.
• Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research.
• Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs.
• Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from home unit.
• Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed.
• Utilize a customer focus in completing assignments, communicate in a courteous and conscientious manner.
