Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking an Evening Phlebotomist at the Burnet Campus to perform specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and lab support. You will educate patients and families and assist with special projects in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The role emphasizes patient advocacy, collaboration, and ongoing professional development through mandatory trainings. This position supports care for infants, children, and adolescents within Laboratory Support Services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of Phlebotomy or other relevant Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Technical/Phlebotomy - Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing.
• Customer Service - Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs. Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from home unit.
• Collaboration - Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals. Proactively adjust one’s style, efforts to complement those of others.
• Professional Development - Maintain currency in the field through continuing education, conferences, meetings, in‑services, networking, literature, and/or seminars.
• Compliance - Understand and comply with applicable policies, guidelines, regulations, and/or accreditation standards.
