Job summary

Children’s Minnesota in Minneapolis and St. Paul seeks a casual Phlebotomy Technician to collect samples across age groups in a fast-paced hospital lab. You’ll support specimen processing, data entry, and customer service while ensuring accuracy and safety.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; a phlebotomy certificate is preferred though not required. Prior hospital experience and familiarity with lab computer systems are a plus. Shifts vary; 32 hours per month basis.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certificate/license is not required, but preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• Experience as a phlebotomist or specimen processing tech in a hospital setting.
• 1-year pediatric phlebotomy experience and/or one year of experience in a pediatric clinical laboratory setting, and/or graduation from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.

Responsibilities

• Collects specimens using knowledge of laboratory techniques.
• Provides excellent customer service and communicates with patients and families.
• Receives and processes samples and enters orders into the lab information system.
• Monitors and ensures quality and safety during specimen collection.
