Job summary

Interpath Laboratory, Inc. seeks an experienced Phlebotomist to join a fast-paced clinic environment with a focus on pediatric patients. The role involves high-volume sample collection, data entry, and strict compliance with safety and HIPAA policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of on-the-job phlebotomy experience.
• Pediatric phlebotomy experience required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with pediatric patients and families; detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Administrative duties: Providing excellent customer service to patients and families, answering phones, and monitoring instrumentation alarms.
• Technical responsibilities: Performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening, with a focus on pediatric patients.
• Accurate data management: Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information.
• Specimen handling: Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Compliance: Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance activities.
• Flexibility: Supporting clinic operations and assisting with coverage as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day workflow.
• Reliability: Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients.
