Talent Solutions Partners in Reston, VA is seeking a contract Phlebotomist for a 3-month engagement with potential for permanent placement. The role involves blood collection, labeling, and specimen handling in a fast-paced lab setting.

The qualified candidate will have phlebotomy certification, 6 months venipuncture experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Schedule includes weekdays with alternating Saturday shifts; benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process to patients in a clear and courteous manner.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Follow physicians' orders and match requisitions.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
