The Recruiting Hive in Austin, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and processing in a fast-paced environment. Pediatric experience is preferred, with 3–4 years of relevant clinical exposure required.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting workflow, performing venipunctures, and ensuring accuracy of test orders and specimen handling while complying with OSHA/DEP regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate techniques with straight or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and follow transport protocols to maintain specimen integrity.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
