Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse for full-time evening shifts (36 hours/week, onsite). The role focuses on delivering family-centered nursing care, assessing needs, and coordinating with providers to ensure safe, high-quality pediatric care.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN (or will obtain within 5 years), an Ohio RN license, and BLS. Previous healthcare experience and EPIC familiarity are preferred. Leadership and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• BSN required or to be obtained within 5 years of hire date.
• Current Ohio RN license and valid BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs.
• Provide leadership and professional duties within the team.
• Perform patient-centered care duties and participate in quality improvement.
• Contribute to staff education, precept new employees and mentor others.
• Engage in evidence-based practice and promote collaboration for quality care.
• Support providers and foster legendary customer service for pediatric patients.
• Participate in systems-based practice and informatics duties.
• Rotate to areas across the Akron Children's Hospital enterprise as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
