Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a PRN Staff Nurse for day shift to deliver family‑centered nursing care. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, and coordination of care across units, with emphasis on safety, education, and collaboration.

The role requires a BSN or expected completion within 5 years, an Ohio RN license, and BLS certification. Prior hospital experience and EPIC proficiency are preferred; on‑call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• BSN required or obtained within 5 years of hire date.
• Current Ohio RN license required.
• BLS certification required; additional dept certifications may apply.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• On-call availability as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care.
• Focus on family-centered care for individuals or groups.
• Demonstrate knowledge to address physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties.
• Perform patient-centered care duties.
• Contribute to quality improvement and safety activities.
• Participate in staff education and precepting as needed.
• Practice evidence-based nursing and promote collaboration.
• Support providers and promote teamwork for quality care.
• Perform informatics and technology duties.
• May be assigned to different Akron Children’s Hospital areas as needed.
