Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Staff Nurse (PRN) for Onsite Boardman Outpatient Surgery. You will provide nursing care grounded in biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes family-centered care, leadership, patient education, and safety. A BSN, Ohio RN license, and BLS are required, with opportunities to mentor staff and contribute to quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• BSN required or to be completed within 5 years from hire date.
• RN license in Ohio is required.
• BLS certification required; other dept certifications may apply.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience; surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and directs nursing care with a family-centered focus.
• Addresses physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Performs leadership and professional duties.
• Delivers patient-centered care and safety duties.
• Participates in quality improvement and safety duties.
• Educates staff and may precept new employees; mentors clinical staff.
• Practices evidence-based care and protocols.
• Promotes collaboration for efficient operation and pediatric service quality.
• Engages in informatics and technology duties.
• Staff may be temporarily assigned across Akron Children's Hospital enterprise as needed.
