Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking an RN Staff Nurse for on-site outpatient pulmonary services. This PRN/variable dayturn role requires a BSN or progress toward one, active Ohio RN license, BLS, with PALS and ACLS within 1 year.

You will provide family-centered nursing care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include planning, implementing and evaluating care, mentoring staff, and supporting evidence-based practice in a pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Active Ohio RN license (MSL) required within 90 days for certain departments.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS/ACLS within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care for diverse patient needs across age and development.
• Demonstrate leadership and perform professional duties.
• Deliver patient-centered care and ensure safety and quality.
• Contribute to quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Educate and mentor staff; participate in staff development.
• Engage in evidence-based practice activities.
• Support providers and promote collaboration for efficient operations and excellent pediatric care.
• Engage in systems-based practice and informatics duties.
• Staff may be assigned to various Akron Children’s Hospital units as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
