Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking an Oral Surgeon to deliver comprehensive pediatric oral surgical care. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care for young patients, including pre-operative evaluation and post-operative follow-up.

The role includes active participation in education and research initiatives, lectures, and mentorship of dental residents and medical students, with opportunities to contribute to clinical advancement.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
• Certificate of completion from an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
• Board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
• Valid state dental license and ability to obtain medical licensure in Ohio.
• Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of current oral surgical techniques in pediatric care.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of pediatric oral surgical procedures (extractions, corrective jaw surgery, implants, pathology).
• Provide pre-operative evaluation and post-operative care and follow-up.
• Collaborate with pediatric dentists, orthodontists, otolaryngologists, and surgeons on treatment plans.
• Participate in rounds, conferences, and education/training of residents and students.
• Engage in scholarly activities, including research and presentations at national conferences.
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
