Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital seeks an Oral Surgeon to deliver comprehensive pediatric oral surgical care and to work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes for young patients. The role includes teaching dental residents, participating in research, and contributing to education initiatives within the hospital.

The ideal candidate will have an active dental license in Ohio or eligibility, ABOMS board certification, and a track record in pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
• Completion certificate from an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency.
• ABOMS board certification and valid state license with Ohio licensure capability.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of pediatric oral surgical procedures including extractions, corrective jaw surgery, implants, and pathology treatment.
• Collaborate with pediatric dentists, orthodontists, otolaryngologists, plastic surgeons, and other specialists on treatment plans.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care, participate in rounds, and contribute to education and research within the hospital.
• Engage in scholarly activities, including research projects and presentations at national conferences.
