Job summary

Shriners Children's Spokane is recruiting an Operating Room/PACU RN to join the Perioperative team. The RN provides care in OR and PACU Phase I, supporting the Anesthesiologist during intraoperative care and ensuring asepsis and infection control according to AORN guidelines.

The candidate will mentor, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and participate in committees or projects as needed. BSN preferred or in-process, WA RN license, BLS and PALS within 3 months of hire; AORN certification

Qualifications

• BSN preferred, or signed BSN education agreement to actively be in process to receive BSN within five years from the initial date of hire.
• RN in WA
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required with 3 months of hire
• PALS required with 3 months of hire
• AORN certification a plus
• Pediatrics, orthopedic experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performs professional nursing services for patients in the OR and PACU using the nursing process.
• Supports the family-centered care philosophy of Shriners Children's Spokane.
• Collects and analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis/issues.
• Identifies expected outcomes and develops a plan addressing health promotion/restoration.
• Implements the plan and coordinates care delivery for patients.
• Promotes health and a safe environment.
