Job summary
Banner Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Pediatric Surgery unit at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. This full-time night shift position offers an 18% night differential and weekend differential of $3 per hour, with a patient-centered, family‑centered care model.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will care for pediatric patients with cancer and blood disorders, spanning neonate to young adults, and collaborate across subspecialties
Qualifications
- Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice or compact license.
- BLS certification is required.
- Experience in the clinical area for which applying is desired and one year in an acute care setting ( Banner Registry and Travel positions require 1 year in acute care).
- Must maintain clinical competencies through annual validations.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational and discharge planning needs.
- Formulate and update a plan of care with multidisciplinary team input.
- Provide direct patient care and supervise care delivery by other licensed staff.
- Evaluate patient progress and revise plans as needed.
- Document care activities accurately in patient records.
- Participate in shared leadership and quality improvement activities.
- Support evidence-based practice and interprofessional collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and care teams.
