Job summary

Banner Health's Banner Children’s Hospital at Desert in Mesa, Arizona, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The PICU/CVICU cares for neonates to young patients with complex medical and surgical needs in a 24‑bed unit within a Level 1 trauma facility.

The night shift runs from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with an 18% night differential and a flat $3/hour weekend differential. Banner Health offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth in a family-centered care

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited nursing program, including an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Nursing, or the completion of a specialized nursing diploma program with at least two years of training/experience.
Current RN license in state of practice (Arizona).
BLS certification required.
Experience in an acute care hospital setting is desired.
Bachelor's degree and professional certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual and developmental needs and plan discharge.
Formulate and revise plan of care with input from patient, family and health team.
Implement and coordinate care, delegating tasks to team members as needed.
Evaluate patient and family responses and adjust the plan accordingly.
Document assessments, plans and outcomes in the patient record.
