Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join the Medical Surgery Oncology Unit. The role supports routine patient care on a busy Med/Surg Oncology unit with a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio, including cancer care across diagnoses.

3,000 sign-on bonus; night shifts 6pm-6:30am with weekend rotations and differential pay. Responsibilities include data collection, charting, patient assistance, and coordination with care teams, under supervision.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
Current BLS certification is required.
Current CNA in state of practice is required for new hires.

Responsibilities

Assists with activities of daily living to promote patient comfort and mobility.
Collects patient data and vital signs; documents in the EMR.
Reports changes in patient status to a licensed professional promptly.
Assists with procedures and care under supervision of licensed staff.
Performs receptionist/clerical tasks and supports unit communication.
Maintains patient records, supplies, and order entry per policy.
Transports patients and supports OR turnover as assigned.
