TTUHSC seeks a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join the pediatric inpatient unit, delivering family-centered care to children with hematologic and oncologic conditions. The NP collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to manage admissions, treatment plans, and discharge processes.
Responsibilities include education for families, care coordination across services, and contributing to quality improvement. Requires TX RN license and NP certification, with BLS/PALS preferred.
The Nurse Practitioner will function within University MedicalCenter pediatric inpatient unit, delivering comprehensive,family-centered care to pediatric patients with hematologic andoncologic conditions in a multidisciplinary inpatient setting. As akey member of the cancer center’s collaborative care team, the NPwill provide expert patient-centered management and compassionatesupport to children and their families navigating complex medicaljourneys. Provides primary care as part of a health care team in anambulatory setting in a particular discipline. Provides patienteducation and counseling as well as physical assessment. Mayparticipate in teaching programs for students and other studentresidents. Work is performed under usual clinic conditions andrequires a high degree of contact with patients, families, andother clinic personnel and outside professionals. Some positions inthe classification require travel to outreach clinics and homevisits, and participation in educational efforts and specialprograms that occur outside of normal working hours.
