Job summary

TTUHSC in Midland, Texas is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (OB/GYN) to support a supervising physician with data gathering, patient care planning, and provision of health services. You will perform exams, order tests, administer vaccines, and educate families while collaborating with the care team.

Qualified candidates include PA or NP licensure in Texas; duties include emergency care when needed and travel up to 25%. Schedule Mon-Fri, daytime hours in Midland.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from PA training program approved by the relevant council.
  • Current Texas PA license or transfer ability.
  • Certifications for PA exams by NCCPA.
  • Or graduation from an accredited nursing program with RN license in Texas.
  • NP certification from approved Texas Board of Nursing program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to OB/GYN patients and manage acute/chronic conditions.
  • Obtain patient histories, interpret data, order tests such as labs/imaging/EKGs.
  • Perform procedures including immunizations, injections, suturing, wound care.
  • Develop and implement care plans and document progress.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment adherence and preventive care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and care team to optimize outcomes.
  • Provide emergency medical care when needed per protocols.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Provide comprehensive medical care to OB/GYN patients,including health assessments, physical examinations, diagnosis, andmanagement of acute and chronic conditions.

  • Obtain detailed patient and family histories, interpretclinical data, and order/perform diagnostic tests such as labs,imaging, and EKGs.

  • Perform therapeutic and preventive procedures includingimmunizations, injections, suturing, wound care, and infectionmanagement.

  • Develop and implement evidence-based patient care plans,document progress, and ensure continuity of care.

  • Counsel and educate patients and families on treatmentadherence, disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, anddevelopmental milestones.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and theinterdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes.

  • Provide emergency medical care when necessary, in alignmentwith clinical protocols and patient safety standards.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program approvedby the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of theAmerican Medical Association. Current Physician Assistant licensein the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas.Certification as a Physician Assistant as evidenced by passing theexaminations given by the National Commission on the Certificationof Physician Assistants. OR Graduation from an accreditedschool of nursing as a nurse practitioner from an approvedcertification program recognized by Texas Board of Nursing. CurrentR.N. license as approved by the Texas Board of Nursing or abilityto transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Nurse Practitionerfrom an approved certification program as recognized by Texas Boardof Nursing or ability to transfer certification to Texas.
