Job summary

TTUHSC in Amarillo, TX, seeks a Lead Specialist - Surgery to perform advanced, specialized work in organizing and implementing projects within the Surgery department.

Work is done with minimal supervision and in accordance with policies, with latitude for independent judgment. May substitute for the supervisor during their absence, and coordinates with the Administrative team on CME travel and credentialing matters.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications: High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct support to departmental Faculty as assigned by the Administrator.
• Maintains leave balances and CME tracking for all Faculty.
• Coordinates with Medical Administrative Secretary for all CME travel and credits.
• Serves as an integral contact for the Administrative Department, receiving and answering all incoming requests from internal and external contacts.
• Manages Qgenda and the call schedules for both hospitals.
• Assists in completing and maintaining credentialing information for Providers.
• Maintains departmental inventory annually and creates purchase orders.
• Processes travel reimbursements and purchasing transactions as needed.
• Coordinates and serves as main contact for ATLS trauma courses.

Major/Essential Functions
