Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join the Pediatric service line on the 7th Floor-Hem/Onc. The role supports a 24-bed unit delivering family-centered care to neonates through pediatrics, with a night shift from 6pm to 6:30am and weekend rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification required.
• CNA license current in state of practice required for new hires.
• Approximately 1 year of medical clerical experience or related work.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and promote patient health.
• Collect patient specimens and vital signs; document data.
• Report health status changes to a licensed professional.
• Perform procedures and use equipment under supervision.
• Provide receptionist/clerical support to the department.
• Maintain patient records and chart forms; ensure documentation.
• Monitor supplies and re-order as needed.
• Assist with patient transport and OR turnover as needed.
• Operate in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on patient care.
