Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join the Pediatric service line. The role supports a 24-bed all-private unit with a family-centered care model, working under licensed supervision on a day shift.

This position includes responsibilities from ADL assistance to documenting care in the EMR and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient experiences in a busy pediatric unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current CNA certification and BLS certification are required for new hires.
• Ability to use basic medical terminology and computer systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic hygiene.
• Collect vital signs and basic data; document in the EMR.
• Report changes in patient condition to licensed staff promptly.
• Perform delegated procedures and use equipment under supervision, including specimens and simple insertions.
• Handle reception/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist in charting and supply management.
