Job summary

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is seeking a part-time Patient Care Assistant to support the Neurology & Neuroscience department. Responsibilities include accurate documentation and effective communication during shifts, ensuring infection control, and assisting with training of new staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of healthcare rotation preferred.
• Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA certification or reciprocity within 180 days.
• Ohio or National EMS Registry listing supported.
• 1 year of patient care experience within last 3 years.
• Successful completion of the organization's Patient Care Assistant training; CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan of Care: provide approved care and assist with interventions under RN supervision; supervise ADLs and activities.
• Communication: document patient status, assist with shift change summaries, and maintain clear communication with team.
• Environment: maintain safe, organized work areas, follow infection control policies, and adapt to pediatric needs.
• Administrative Support: respond to alarms, answer phones per policy, assemble charts, and help with training of new staff.
