Job summary

Jefferson Blount St Clair Mental Health Authority in Birmingham, AL seeks a Master's level out-patient therapist to serve children referred by the Children’s Mobile Crisis Response Team. You will conduct intake, individual therapy, family therapy and group therapy with a focus on crisis intervention and behavior support in home, school or community settings.

This role involves documenting in an EMR daily, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and adjusting treatment plans to meet the needs

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, social work or counseling with an emphasis on clinical service and crisis intervention.
• Two years’ experience with children/adolescents with a serious emotional disturbance in a community setting is preferred.
• State licensure is preferred (LICSW, LPC, LMFT).

Responsibilities

• Interview, evaluate and assess mental health and other needs of children/families.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for each client.
• Provide individual, group and family therapy with emphasis on behavior modification and parent education.
• Document charts daily in an EMR system including assessments, treatment plans and referrals.
• Present clinical assessments and treatment goals at staffings with the MCT Coordinator.
• Coordinate with the MCT staff and other community resources to meet client needs.
• Perform additional administrative duties as required.
