Job summary

Jefferson Blount St Clair Mental Health Authority is seeking an Out-Patient Therapist to serve children and adolescents in Jefferson County. You will assess needs, develop treatment plans and deliver individual, family, and group therapy while coordinating with JCDH and other community resources.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a clinical field, two years of relevant experience, and preferred licensure. Travel and flexible hours may be needed to meet client needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, social work or counseling with emphasis on clinical service for children/adolescents.
• Two years’ experience with children/adolescents with a serious emotional disturbance in a community setting.
• State licensure preferred (LICSW, LPC, LMFT).
• Valid Alabama driver’s license and driveable vehicle; insurability.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview, evaluate and assess mental health needs of children/families.
• Develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group and family therapy with evidence-based approaches.
• Collaborate with Children’s Services and JCDH and community resources.
• Document charts daily in EMR with treatment plans, referrals and follow-up.
• Lead staffings to present clinical assessments and goals.
• Perform other administrative duties; participate in on-call roster.
