Job summary

Jefferson Blount St Clair Mental Health Authority seeks a Children’s Mobile Crisis Response Team Member to provide on-site crisis intervention for children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance. The role focuses on de-escalation, resource linkage, and rapid coordination with the team leader and community partners.

You will assess needs, document findings in the EMR, and collaborate with DHR, schools, and police to prevent out-of-home placements and unnecessary hospitalizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field required.
• Two years experience with children/adolescents with serious emotional disturbance, crisis intervention preferred.
• Valid Alabama driver's license and auto insurance meeting state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Respond on-site to mental health crises with the Team Leader.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and support to children and adolescents in crisis.
• Assess mental health needs and identify needed resources and supports.
• Link children and families to agency/community resources within 24 hours.
• Document case details accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Provide case updates to the Mobile Crisis Response Team Coordinator.
• Engage in outreach with Jefferson County DHR, EDs, police, schools, and community partners.
• Coordinate with MCT staff and transportation needs as appropriate.
• Maintain required data and perform other administrative duties.
