Job summary

Jefferson Blount St Clair Mental Health Authority in Birmingham, AL seeks a Team Leader for the Mobile Crisis Response Team to provide on-site crisis intervention for children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance. You will coordinate crisis services with team members, de-escalate crises, and connect families with local resources.

Responsibilities include on-site response, documentation in EMR, liaison with DHR and community partners, and shift work including nights/holidays.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or counseling; licensure preferred.
• At least two years of crisis-intervention experience with children/adolescents.
• Valid Alabama driver’s license and auto insurance meeting state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Respond on-site to mental health crisis situations with the Team Member.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and support services to children and adolescents.
• Assess mental health needs and identify resources and supports.
• Link children/adolescents to agency, DHR, and community resources within 24 hours.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Coordinate case updates with the MCT Coordinator during staff meetings.
• Provide case consultations and follow-up information to Jefferson County DHR.
• Perform outreach with DHR, ERs, police, juvenile court, schools, and agencies.
