PM Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a pediatric urgent care setting. You will greet patients, obtain histories and vitals, prep for X-rays, and assist with labs and wound care under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience or education as a Medical Assistant.
• Knowledge of pediatric EKG placement and processing.
• Ability to obtain lab tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional and friendly demeanor with strong communication.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office; willing to learn medical software.
• Experience with medical records preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs, such as throat and urine cultures.
• Irrigate and assist with wounds.
• Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab.
• Be an integral part of the patient care team and assist with patient care within the scope of practice.
• Keep exam rooms and front reception stocked with adequate supplies.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of the waiting room area.
• Practice standard safety practices and precautions.
• Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies and notifying medical team.
• Maintain operations by following policies and reporting changes to management.
• Maintain patient confidentiality of care information.
• Enhance healthcare practice reputation by taking ownership for new requests and adding value.
• Assist patients with complaints and participate in service recovery when needed.
• Perform other duties including applying splints and assisting nurse/provider in procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer services.
