Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks a Medical Assistant, Primary Care to provide direct and indirect patient care in a pediatric primary care clinic under supervision of a pediatrician or nurse practitioner. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/registration options within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality patient experience, welcome patients and ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Record patient vitals (height, weight, temp, BP, pulse, SpO2, respiration).
• Prepare exam rooms and assist clinician with examinations and procedures.
• Perform vaccine and medication reconciliation and provide vaccine information statements.
• Maintain vaccine cold chain and proper storage and handling.
• Document immunizations and administer injections as directed.
• Process lab specimens and ensure sterilization of instruments.
• Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA policies.
• Support patient flow and clinic operations.
