Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks a dedicated medical assistant to support direct and indirect patient care within a pediatric department. You will assist licensed clinicians, take vital signs, and help ensure patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Ideal candidates bring strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, with a high school diploma and completion of a medical assistant training program. BLS certification within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in the role of medical assistant, patient care tech or equivalent.
• Completion of Medical Assistant externship at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in basic delivery of patient care as assigned by licensed personnel.
• Completes provider orders and performs intake tasks including vital signs.
• May assist with phlebotomy, vaccines, spirometry, and radiographs under supervision.
• Maintains organization and documentation, communicates delays and assists families.
• Handles administrative duties to support efficient operations and infection control.
