Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited school or EMT or hospital/physician office-based training as a patient care technician or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in the role of medical assistant, patient care tech or equivalent or completion of Medical Assistant Externship at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
  • BLS certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in basic delivery of patient care under licensed professionals, applying age-appropriate standards and infection control.
  • Completes providerOrders and accurately records vital signs.
  • Demonstrates competency in phlebotomy, vaccines, spirometry, and radiographs under physician direction.
  • Maintains organization, prioritizes tasks, and communicates effectively with patients and staff.
  • Performs administrative duties to support operations, including opening/closing procedures and waiting room upkeep.
