Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Medical Assistant for a pediatric primary care setting. You will support direct and indirect patient care under a pediatrician or nurse practitioner, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, assisting with exams, administering vaccines, managing specimens, and handling routine administrative tasks to keep patient flow efficient.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA/MedCA or equivalent certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality patient experience and environment, ensure infection control and supplies.
• Take and record vitals and prepare patients for clinician visits.
• Assist with vaccines and medication administration and provide education to patients/parents.
• Perform basic lab tasks and specimen collection.
• Handle administrative duties: calls, referrals, forms, and patient flow.
