Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Medical Assistant, Primary Care to support pediatric patients in a fast-paced primary care setting. You will work under a pediatrician or nurse practitioner, perform clinical and administrative duties, take vitals, prepare exam rooms, document in the EMR, and assist with vaccines and procedures while maintaining a child-friendly environment.

Qualifications

One year of medical assistant experience.
Experience in pediatrics, including obtaining vitals, assisting clinical staff with patient care, phlebotomy, and specimen collection procedures.

Responsibilities

Clinical: maintain high quality patient experience; welcome patients, ensure safe environment, and assist with rooming and infection control.
Record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, pulse oximetry, respiration).
Document history and update EMR; prepare exam rooms and assist with procedures and vaccines.
Perform vaccine and medication reconciliation; provide vaccine information statements.
Maintain vaccine cold chain and proper handling of specimens and lab tests.
Adhere to HIPAA, infection prevention, and OSHA policies.
