Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Service Specialist to support patient and customer services. You will schedule patient appointments, collect specimens, and place test orders to ensure timely and accurate results.

Proficiency in venipuncture and familiarity with electronic health records and LIS are required. Reporting to the Pre-Analytics Supervisor, you will collaborate with staff, educate lab customers, and uphold hospital policies while handling various shifts as needed to

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform venipuncture with pediatric patients.
• Experience with patient scheduling and specimen collection.
• Knowledge of electronic health records and laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedules patients for specimen collections and tests.
• Collects specimens as needed for testing.
• Uses LIS/EHR to receive specimens, order tests, and document details.
• Maintains documentation, files requisitions and reports.
• Maintains professional relationships with medical staff and hospital personnel; communicates clearly.
• Works different shifts as required and adheres to policies.
