Job summary

UNC Health is seeking experienced nurses to join the Inpatient Float Pool for pediatric services. The role supports pediatric acute care units, Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU, NCCC and Children's ED. Orientation and competency requirements precede scheduling.

Preference given to candidates with 18+ months of recent hospital experience. Shifts and hours vary with self-scheduling and rotating weekends. Positions are per diem with options: Flex II (12 hrs/wk, $44.97/hr), Flex III (12 hrs/wk,

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One (1) year of relevant and current experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting.
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process.
• Participate in education, evaluation, implementation, leadership and planning of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to achieve patient outcomes.
• Identify learning needs and participate in continuing education.
• Plan care with patient/family, using multidisciplinary resources.
• Engage in research and apply relevant studies to practice.
