Job summary

UNC Health's Inpatient Float Pool seeks Experienced Nurses for Pediatric services. This full-time role covers pediatric acute care units, PICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU, NCCC, and Children's ED with 3-12 hour shifts, days, nights, weekend rotation, and onsite work in Chapel Hill, NC.

Ideal candidates have at least 18 months of hospital nursing experience, RN licensed in North Carolina, BLS, and a BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs and provide patient education materials.
• Evaluation of care: participate in interdisciplinary evaluation and ensure continuity of care.
• Implementation: provide competent care for patients with complex needs and coordinate discharge planning.
• Leadership: support unit goals and promote intra/interdepartmental collaboration.
• Patient assessment: identify priorities and plan care with patient/family involvement.
• Planning: collaborate with patient/family to update the plan of care using multidisciplinary resources.
• Research: read journals and discuss applicable studies with the team.
