Job summary

UNC Medical Center is seeking experienced nurses for our Inpatient Float Pool, supporting pediatric acute care units, PICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU, NCCC, and Children's ED. This full-time role involves 3–12 hour shifts with days, nights, and weekend rotations. Precepting is tailored to your experience, with preference given to those with 18 months of recent hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must enroll within four years and obtain a Bachelor's in Nursing or a Master's in Nursing within seven years.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting.
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process.
• Participate in education, evaluation, implementation, leadership, and planning of care.
• Identify patient education needs and promote continuity of care.
• Assist in discharge planning and family communication.
• Support unit goals and performance improvement initiatives.
