Job summary

Metro Pediatrics is seeking a Front Office Supervisor to oversee daily front desk operations and supervise Patient Access staff. You will ensure smooth patient flow, accurate scheduling, and proper insurance verification while maintaining exceptional patient service.

In this role, you will partner with the Practice Manager to coach staff, manage timecards, and implement process improvements. A positive, fast-paced environment and a commitment to exemplary customer service are expected.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in health care, patient access, medical office, or customer service setting preferred.
• Prior supervisor or lead work experience required; minimum of 2-3 years preferred.
• Experience with EMR required, preferably Epic.
• Experience with front office workflows, scheduling, insurance verification, registration, and patient financial processes preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee front desk operations to align with organizational standards.
• Perform Patient Access Specialist duties: scheduling, demographics, insurance verification, check-in, and cash handling.
• Coordinate front desk schedule and staffing to support patient flow.
• Communicate with Practice Manager and providers about staffing and operational needs.
• Review timecards and time-off requests with Practice Manager.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to staff.
• Train and mentor new and existing Patient Access Specialists.
• Prepare performance evaluations and training records.
• Support quality measures and clinic-wide initiatives.
• Identify workflow improvements and implement changes.
• Act as liaison between Revenue Cycle and clinic for updates.
• Lead front office meetings and communicate updates.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Exhibit professional behavior and patient-focused service.
• Provide supervisory coverage when needed.
