Phoenix Children\'s Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Family Financial Services Counselor to help families understand insurance benefits, determine payment options, and navigate financial assistance programs.

This role works with the care team to ensure families have a clear view of liability, coverage, and available payment plans. The counselor will assist uninsured or underinsured patients in obtaining government or commercial coverage and will coordinate with payers, departments, and vendors to

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree in Business or a related field preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA Privacy Act.
• Experience with HMOs and other third-party payers within and outside the United States.
• Experience with related Federal and State programs available to the uninsured.
• Two (2) or more years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle environment.

Responsabilidades

• Educate families on insurance benefits and out-of-pocket amounts.
• Assist uninsured/underinsured families in obtaining government or commercial coverage.
• Explain liability, coverage and payment options with the care team to ensure understanding.
• Provide patient estimates prior to service.
• Document activities and interactions in patient accounts.
• Process and manage financial assistance packets for review and approval.
• Track all financial assistance applications in a central repository.
• Collaborate with departments, payers, and vendors on behalf of the patient.
• Maintain knowledge of Federal Marketplace, Medicare, AHCCCS, and third-party payer rules.
• Provide feedback to management and assist with problem resolution.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as requested.
