Job summary

Banner Health in Surprise, AZ is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in delivering patient care. You will take vital signs, assist with exams and minor procedures, and help coordinate care with referrals and scheduling.

The role requires a Banner-approved MA training program, active MA certification, and strong computer skills to use EMR and scheduling software. You will work in a fast-paced clinic with varied shifts and a focus on exceptional patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Banner-approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required (RMA/CMA/CCMA/NCMA).
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Strong computer skills and ability to use medical software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for certain Banner Behavioral Health settings.
• Arizona Criminal History Affidavit to be signed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by recording vital signs and chief complaint.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures.
• Coordinates patient care including referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling.
• Delivers test results to patients and maintains complete medical records for billing.
• Maintains clean, safe clinical environment and sterilizes equipment.
• Orders supplies and manages medication-related tasks.
• Maintains effective communication with patients and staff.
• Completes onboarding/orientation activities as directed.
• Works under supervision of providers and coordinates with other staff.
