Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a part-time Night shift Medical Support Assistant in the Burnet Emergency Department. You will support plan of care under RN supervision, assist with daily living activities, transport patients, and aid co-workers as needed.

You will perform frontline communication, document changes, participate in safety procedures, and assist with training of new staff. CPR certification and Ohio STNA/EMSR credentialing are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of medical/surgical clinical rotation from ACEN/CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited program.
• Listed on Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA (reciprocity if from another state).
• Listed on Ohio or National Emergency Medical Services Registry.
• 1+ years of patient care experience within the last three years.
• Requires CPR training and maintenance of certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan of Care - Provide approved care under RN supervision; supervise activities of daily living; assist co-workers when needed.
• Communication - Demonstrate CARES behaviors; report changes in patient condition; document in medical record; seek guidance as needed; discuss concerns with supervisor.
• Environment - Maintain safe, organized, and infection-controlled areas; ensure safety for children; adhere to safety procedures.
• Administrative Support - Respond to alarms; answer phones per etiquette; assemble charts, stock supplies; assist in orientation/training of new employees.
