Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a part-time Hematology/Oncology patient care support role in Cincinnati, OH. You will assist with Plan of Care under RN supervision, support activities of daily living, and help de-escalate situations while maintaining patient safety.

The role emphasizes compassionate communication, accurate charting, and efficient coordination of care within a fast-paced pediatric setting. Night shift, part-time schedule, 24 weekly hours, 0.6 FTE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Clinical rotation from ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited program or equivalent.
• Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA; reciprocity if CNA from another state.
• Ohio or National EMS Registry listing.
• 1+ year patient care experience in last three years.
• CPR training and ongoing certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan of Care - provide approved care under supervision of RN and assist with activities of daily living.
• Demonstrate CARES behaviors in interactions with patients, families, and co-workers; document changes in patient condition.
• Maintain safe, organized division environment; comply with infection control policies; ensure safety for children’s ages and development levels.
• Answer alarms, manage calls, assemble charts, stock supplies; assist in orientation and training of new employees.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of medical/surgical or equivalent clinical rotation from ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution

Listed on Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA

Listed on Ohio or National Emergency Medical Services Registry

1+ years of patient care experience within the last three years

Requires CPR training and maintenance of certification
