Job summary

Akron Children's seeks an Epileptologist – EEG Night Reader for a part-time, remote night shift. You will interpret inpatient and outpatient EEGs, including routine and ambulatory studies, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary pediatric epilepsy team.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, documentation accuracy, and participation in program development and research within a leading pediatric health system.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board-certified/board-eligible in Neurology with subspecialty training in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology.
• Ability to obtain an Ohio Medical License.

Responsibilities

• Interpret inpatient and outpatient EEG studies, including routine EEG.
• Interpret ambulatory EEG and long-term video EEG.
• Oversee sEEGs and ICU monitoring within the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU).
• Collaborate with neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, nursing, and allied health teams.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure safety/regulatory compliance.
• Participate in program development, education, and research initiatives.
